Urgent Update

So usually I start these things off with some sort of Batman reference and the spiritual aspects of that segment of the movie, but today I wanted to focus your attention on two very important developments: game night and Shi.

Last Thursday JR and myself started our game night in the dorm. We invited several of the residents in the dorm to come play card games with us and eat free pizza. The whole point of this practice is to build relationships with students who don't believe in Christ as their Savior so that we can have weight and value in their lives next semester when we invite them to study the bible with us. Three students showed up, not including the four of us that were inviting people; they were Thomas (pronounced "Toe-mahs"), Carlos, and Jennifer. We had some really good, surface-level conversations with these three students, so much so that I believe they'll all come back tomorrow night.

What I am really excited to tell you about is a student Victor and I met while evangelizing by the name of Shi. I don't want to give out his first name but his family name is Shi. He's of Chinese descent and is an Agnostic (basically he's isn't sure if there is a God or not). We talked to him for an hour Monday about what he believed and why, at the end of which I asked him if he'd like to read the Bible with me to find out more about Jesus, God, and Christianity.

HE SAID YES!

We met Monday night for an hour or so, and he asked me all the questions he could think of about anything related to Jesus or the Bible. God gave me the exact words to say to answer all of his questions with Biblical evidence. His main thought was that the Bible and science conflict, but after showing him 13 verses that are backed up by science, I could tell he wasn't as sure about what he believed as he was at the start of the conversation. He took the paper with the 13 verses to look over this week, and he said he might want to meet again next Monday!

Please, please, please be in prayer for Carlos, Thomas, Jennifer, and Shi this week. Pray that God would bring them into contact with His Son and use whatever means necessary to do that.
